A healthy baby starts with a healthy you.

Did you know that optimal fetal development ideally begins well before you get pregnant? Starting a comprehensive pregnancy wellness and reproductive health plan 3-12 months before conception helps ensure your baby has a solid foundation for healthy growth and your body has the resources you need to thrive during pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond. This includes Dad, too! Nutrition plays an important role in sperm quality.

Comprehensive prenatal care you can trust

As prenatal care and nutrition experts, we believe optimal fetal development depends on the successful integration of hormones, shifts in the gut microbiome, and immune system. Yet, many women are already experiencing dysfunction in one or more of these systems before they conceive. The various shifts throughout the body during pregnancy and postpartum cause even greater breakdowns.

That’s why our approach is focused on restoring your body’s balance so you and your baby’s health can thrive. At Thrive, we won’t don’t just give you a plan and send you out the door. Expect thorough support throughout your conception, pregnancy, and postpartum journey!

Get Started

“I have had a fantastic experience! I came to Thrive feeling confused and overwhelmed after my research on how to best eat for fertility and pregnancy. After working with my care team and beginning my plan, I felt more peaceful and confident. I also don’t feel restricted! I really liked the chance to get tested for what nutrients I was low in, and my dietitian helped me resolve those gaps. I’m now pregnant and looking forward to meeting my baby!”

Your prenatal health questions, answered.

When it comes to providing optimal nutrition for a developing baby, many pregnant women are given the false impression that a prenatal vitamin is sufficient. However, most prenatal vitamins don’t contain the correct forms and dosing of nutrients that are needed.

A critical component of a prenatal care and wellness plan is nutrition. Naturally, nutrition is incredibly powerful when it comes to prenatal development. Nutrients like choline, iodine, EPA, and DHEA omega-3 fats, folate, and iron have been shown to significantly impact fetal and child development. These differences persist even into school age. For example, language development and cognition in children are both impacted by nutrition before birth. Thus, nutrients are important for avoiding birth defects and promoting both cognitive and verbal development.

Consequently, many pregnant women who rely on prenatal vitamins alone fall short on these important fetal-development nutrients. Our prenatal care provider and women’s health specialists will help you determine the specific nutrient gaps you need to be filled.
Your baby’s development can be impacted by a range of different health factors, most of which can be controlled and improved with prenatal care and dietary interventions. This includes your:
  • Blood sugar balance
  • Microbiome, also known a gut health
  • Essential fatty acid status, such as omega-3s
  • Natural detoxification pathways
  • Toxic load (common environmental exposures)
  • Inflammatory triggers
  • Diet and lifestyle
  • Antioxidant status
All of these factors can profoundly impact each step of your child’s journey, from pre-conception through postpartum. Your women’s health care team will identify which areas may need support in your unique situation and help you develop a wellness and nutrition plan to address them.
As a nutrition-centric primary care provider, we offer necessary prenatal care support. Your Thrive practitioners are trained to look at the whole picture when developing your wellness plan and guide you through fertility, pregnancy, and the postnatal period. We are not a replacement for a qualified OB/GYN provider. Instead, we collaborate with your OB/GYN and other women’s health specialists.
