Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

Amber Tillman
MSN, FNP-C

Hello, I am an Air Force veteran and board certified nurse practitioner with a decade of service in the medical field, with primary care and internal medicine experience. I also have advanced training in most medical specialties to include cardiology, endocrinology, GI, hematology, oncology, dermatology, orthopedics, ENT, pulmonology, and women’s health.

During my time in the military, I served as an air traffic controller. After that, I experienced a personal health crisis that opened my eyes to the many failings of the current/traditional medical model. I resigned from the Federal Aviation Administration to pursue a career in medicine, and am passionate about providing superior care to my patients.

I truly care about my patients and believe in providing thorough, high quality care with a focus on prevention of disease and education/empowering patients. I prevent, diagnose, and treat most medical conditions, but have a particular interest in cardiovascular health, endocrine disorders, mental health, and medical weight loss. I prioritize taking time with my patients, proper follow-up, and ensuring they feel heard, understood, valued, and well cared for. Using food as medicine whenever possible is a personal value that is now reinforced by the exceptional dietitians at Thrive!

I have put down roots in the Sandhills, and live here with my husband who retired after 21 years of service in the Air Force. I love spending quality time with my husband, family, and friends, hiking, playing and coaching volleyball, reading, watching movies, and finding great restaurants.
